Ship and trophy from the severian arc in Naples
The preliminary excavations for the construction of a new station metro line 6 of Naples led to the uncovering of an unpredictable number of archaeological discoveries.
What interests us here was discovered Piazza Bovio : it is an almost intact medieval tower built by reusing a Severian reused marble arch that marked the era outpost sea.
Among the architectural elements found in the excavations Piazza Bovio, a large corner block with double decoration : on one side a trophy of war, the other side of the bow of a ship.
I have not found a picture of the ship but with the trophy.
