Ancient Greek anchors from Piraeus museum

The museum contains many stone anchors discovered during the dredging project to deepen the Passalimani harbour ; they are obvioously connected to triremes moored at the Zea naval station. They are all shaped like a truncated pyramid with a horizontal through hole at the top and are constructed of a volcanic stone of unknown origin.
